Early-stage innovation gets head start at KL University, student secures ₹6 lakh seed funding
Innovation at KL University is no longer something students wait to explore in their final year. Setting a strong example, a first-year Computer Science and Engineering student from the KLH Aziz Nagar Campus has received ₹6,00,000 in seed funding for a student-led startup idea, reaffirming the university’s focus on nurturing ideas from day one.
Md. Abbu Bakar, currently in his first year, secured the funding through the KLEF Incubation Centre under the DST-NIDHI Initiative. At a stage when most students are still settling into campus life, this early recognition reflects confidence in both the idea and the ecosystem supporting it.
The milestone highlights KL University’s structured approach to innovation, where mentorship, accountability, and real-world problem-solving go hand in hand. Faculty mentors and the KL Technology Incubation Foundation have played a key role in guiding the concept, helping transform it from an idea into a scalable, impact-driven venture.
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at KLH Aziz Nagar Campus actively encourages students to engage with entrepreneurship alongside academics. This philosophy aligns with KL University’s standing among the top universities in South India, where innovation, research, and application-driven learning are integrated from the very start of a student’s academic journey.
By enabling early-stage innovators with funding, mentorship, and institutional backing, KL University continues to reinforce its commitment to building future-ready entrepreneurs, not just graduates.
