1. Plasma Gasification

Plasma gasification is an advanced method of Syngas OBD that uses extremely high temperatures generated by plasma arcs. In this process, waste materials are exposed to temperatures above 3000°C, causing them to break down into simple molecules.

The major products are:

• Hydrogen (H₂)
• Carbon monoxide (CO)
• Small amounts of carbon dioxide and other gases

Advantages of Plasma Gasification

• Can process difficult waste materials
• Produces very low amounts of tar

2. Supercritical Water Gasification

Supercritical water gasification is a process where biomass or organic materials are converted into syngas using water at conditions above its critical point.

Water becomes a special phase at:

• Temperature above 374°C
• Pressure above 22.1 MPa

In this condition, water acts as both a solvent and reaction medium.

Benefits

• Suitable for wet biomass
• Does not require energy-intensive drying
• Produces hydrogen-rich syngas

Challenges

• High-pressure equipment requirement
• Expensive operation
• Material corrosion problems

3. Co-Gasification

Co-gasification involves converting two or more feedstocks together to produce syngas.

Examples:

• Coal + biomass
• Biomass + plastic waste
