The SowellAI gas station robot is an intelligent refueling robot that accurately identifies the fuel tank cap, extends its arm to flexibly open the cap, inserts the fuel nozzle, and — when refueling is complete — stops refueling, automatically withdraws the nozzle, closes the fuel tank cap, and returns to its original position. The vehicle can then depart the station safely, having been refueled without any contact. Drivers need not to step out of the vehicle and can refuel the vehicle in 180 seconds.
