Two NCC cadets from KL University's Hyderabad Campus have earned national recognition after being selected to represent Delhi at the prestigious Republic Day Camp (RDC) 2026. The cadets will participate in the Cultural category and the Youth Exchange Programme (YEP), marking a significant milestone in their NCC journey.

The path to RDC is widely regarded as one of the most demanding in the National Cadet Corps ecosystem. Beginning in July and concluding in December, the selection process unfolded across multiple evaluation stages, including IUC-1, IUC-2, IUC-3, IGC, and three Pre-RDC camps. At every stage, cadets were assessed on discipline, consistency, performance, and adaptability, with no room for shortcuts.

From more than two lakh NCC cadets across the AP & Telangana Directorate, nearly 5,000 entered the RDC selection pipeline. Only 125 cadets made it to the final list, placing the KL University cadets among a highly distinguished national cohort.

Participation in the Republic Day Camp goes far beyond ceremonial honour. Successful completion can open pathways to all-India NCC assignments, national-level responsibilities, and international delegations across nearly 25 countries. These opportunities offer rare exposure to global cultures, leadership environments, and collaborative platforms.

At KL University, NCC is treated as a serious leadership and character-building avenue rather than just a co-curricular activity. Cadets undergo structured training that spans physical fitness, drill, sports, cultural expression, and community service, ensuring balanced personal and professional development.

The achievements of the selected cadets reflect this holistic approach. SGT Aila Varun, a B.Tech ECE student, is also a national-level Kho-Kho player. LCPL Srujana Sadhu, pursuing B.Tech CSE, is a trained professional singer and dancer with multiple accolades to her name. Their selection highlights how discipline and creativity can grow side by side.

Through adventure camps, social initiatives, and clearly defined leadership roles, the KLU NCC unit instills confidence, resilience, and a strong sense of responsibility. Guided by the NCC motto “Unity and Discipline,” the unit brings together students from diverse backgrounds and prepares them to lead with integrity long after they leave campus.

Such achievements continue to strengthen the presence of institutions like KL University among the top universities in South India, where academics, leadership training, and national service move forward together.
